Terms of Service

atoolbook.com provides free, browser-based utilities for converting, compressing, and editing images, PDFs, and other files. Processing runs client-side, in your own browser — files you open in a tool are not uploaded to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial, day-to-day consumer use — things like converting a photo, compressing a PDF, or merging a document for your own use. You may use it for that purpose free of charge, without warranty of any kind, as described below.

You agree not to, and not to attempt to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying structure of the Service or any part of it, except to the extent such restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable law.
• Copy, mirror, scrape, or rebuild the Service, in whole or in part, for use in another product or website.
• Use automated means (bots, scripts, scrapers) to access the Service at a volume or frequency a human user would not generate.
• Integrate, embed, resell, white-label, or otherwise incorporate the Service into another product, an automated pipeline, or an industrial-scale workflow without our prior written permission. Using the tools yourself for work is fine — see "Commercial and industrial use" below.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to circumvent the security, rate limits, or normal operation of the Service.
• Use the Service to process files that are unlawful, infringing, or that you do not have the right to process.
• Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices (copyright, trademark, or otherwise) appearing on the Service.

The Service is built and offered for individual use. You are welcome to use it at work: an employee opening a tool in their browser to convert, compress, or format a file as part of their own day-to-day job is a normal, permitted use, whether or not their employer is a business. We do not treat that as commercial use.

What does require our permission is building the Service into something else — for example, embedding or integrating our tools into your own product or service, wrapping them in an automated or scripted pipeline, white-labelling or reselling them, or otherwise making them a component of a commercial or industrial workflow. If you want to do any of that, contact us first at contact@atoolbook.com to discuss licensing. Doing so without our written permission is a breach of these Terms.

The Service — including its code, design, layout, branding, logos, and the "toolbook" name and mark — is the property of atoolbook.com and its team and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the Service; they grant only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it as permitted above.

You retain all rights to the files you open or process using the Service. Because those files are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored by us, we make no claim to them whatsoever.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including — without limitation — implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that any conversion, compression, or edit performed by a tool will be free of errors, data loss, or corruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, atoolbook.com, its team, its developers, and its owner shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of or damage to files, loss of profits, business interruption, or any other loss — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes any issue with a file you process through a tool, however caused.

You agree that your sole and exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it. You agree not to bring, and to waive to the fullest extent permitted by law, any legal claim, suit, or action against atoolbook.com, its team, its developers, or its owner arising from your use of the Service or any file processed through it.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless atoolbook.com, its team, its developers, and its owner from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

The Service may rely on third-party libraries, fonts, or privacy-focused analytics, and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party service or site.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including a suspected violation of these Terms, without notice or liability.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by generally applicable principles of contract law, without reference to any specific jurisdiction's conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
