How it works
To count business days, enter a start and end date above and choose a holiday calendar — weekends and public holidays are excluded, and the second mode works the other way round, telling you which date is a given number of working days from today.
Two questions live on this page and they are not the same calculation. "How many working days between these dates" counts the days in a range. "What date is ten working days from now" walks forward day by day until ten working days have passed — you cannot get it by dividing, because the answer depends on which weekday you start from and which holidays fall in the way. Both share the same holiday and weekend settings, which is why they are one page rather than two. The two built-in holiday calendars are computed from the rules that define them rather than stored as a list of dates, so they stay correct for future years without anyone updating a table. US federal holidays follow 5 U.S.C. § 6103, including the rule that a holiday falling on a Saturday is observed the preceding Friday and one falling on a Sunday the following Monday. UK bank holidays cover England and Wales, including the two that move with Easter and the substitute days that stack when Christmas and Boxing Day land at a weekend.
Deliberately, that is all there is. A built-in calendar for a country whose rules were transcribed once and never checked again produces a confidently wrong answer, which is worse than asking you to supply the dates. State holidays, company shutdowns, regional variations, and Scotland and Northern Ireland all go in the free-text box, one date per line — and any line that cannot be read as a date is reported rather than silently dropped.
The weekend itself is configurable, since Friday–Saturday and Sunday-only working weeks are the norm across much of the world and a calculator that hardcodes Saturday–Sunday is simply wrong there. For a schedule that repeats on a pattern — every weekday, the last Friday of each month — list every date in the series and check each against this count.

FAQ
How many business days are between two dates?
Enter both dates above and pick a holiday calendar. The count excludes weekends and any holidays in the range, and the holidays that were excluded are listed so you can check them.
What date is 10 business days from today?
Switch the mode to "add or subtract working days", enter your start date and 10. The start date itself is never counted, which matches how deadlines are normally read.
Which public holidays are included?
US federal holidays and England & Wales bank holidays, both computed from their governing rules including weekend substitutions. Anything else — state, regional, or company holidays, and Scotland or Northern Ireland — you add yourself in the text box.
Why does a holiday sometimes not reduce the count?
Because it fell on a Saturday or Sunday, which was already excluded. Where a substitute weekday exists, the tool counts that day instead and marks it "observed".
Can I use a Friday–Saturday weekend?
Yes. The weekend setting offers Saturday–Sunday, Friday–Saturday, Sunday only, or no weekend at all.
Should I include the end date?
For a project or leave request that runs through the end date, yes. For counting the working days remaining until a deadline, no. The switch controls it and both answers are legitimate.
